I had left Swede Farm J Princess Bluebell in with the young Alpine buck for 6 weeks so I felt pretty safe moving her back to the main pen so I could move the Alpine buck and have another breeding pen open. Yeah, you guessed it. Princess was in raging heat last week. She was batting her eyes at the Saanen buck. Now he is a handsome lad being an AI son of Companeros Lots of Style. But I tried to explain to her that she is an Alpine and he isn't. She ignored me. So I moved bucks around again and put Princess in the pen with the little Alpine buck. She ran from him. Straight over to the fence where the Saanen was. Wagging her tail 90 miles an hour.
I had the bright idea that I would just hold her for the Alpine buck. Won't try that again. She almost killed me. Not sure if my arm will ever fit back into the shoulder socket. Left her in the pen with the Alpine overnight and if she comes back into heat I will just put her in the pen with the Saanen and love my Experimentals that she will give me.
