Two very handsome fellas don't ya think? The Alpine is three weeks old and the Saanen will be a week old tomorrow. He started out as a BIG BOY.  I like to keep a baby buck of each breed everyyear as backup.

He seemed all excited when he saw the big crate with the bow on it.  He seemed totally confused when he opened it. Why wouldn't he like a nice new milking machine for me to take to goat shows so I can leave the one I built at home for him to use while I am gone? I guess I just don't understand men. He did say it was a really nice machine and really built well so I guess that means he liked it.

My very first Alpine of 2013 and of course it is a buck but I decided to keep him as a backup since I like him.  His name is Devil D3 and he is already acting devilish and picking on the newborn Saanen buck that was born this morning.
No more babies due until March.  Hope they don't decide to kid early since I will be at the Houston Livestock Show.

It was disbudding day for the three week old babies.  I only tattooed one but all nine have been disbudded.  Since it rained I also did a little hoof trimming on the big girls since the hooves would be softer

This is the brave one to venture out alone among the established herd members. The other three figure it is safety in numbers so they are sticking together.  These are my new Lynnhaven doelings that I picked up in GA.  We had to go to Ft. Benning, GA for our son's graduation from Officer School  since we will not see him for a long time as he will enter Ranger School tomorrow, Sunday. Feb 3, 2013.
So I rewarded myself with four new doelings and transported six others back to LA and TX. I am boarding a couple until they can be picked up and they are so active. Got a little hot today and the New York girls were panting but they will get used to the difference in temperature pretty quick. My favorite is the cream colored one with the elf ears.  I love Experimentals.  She is so pretty and I love the haughty look she has. She is bred so I will be having late spring early summer kids this year.
